The Overnight Oats Obsession
Everywhere you go, it seems like new recipes are popping up for overnight oats. What exactly are they and why is everyone obsessed with them?
Overnight oats recipes typically consist of raw oats that are soaked overnight in a liquid (water, milk, yogurt, etc.) and mixed with a variety of toppings like fruit or nuts. Unlike warm oatmeal, overnight oats are typically served cold and have a pudding-like consistency. According to “Eat this, not that!”, raw oats are one of the best sources of resistant starch, which can support weight loss and help you feel fuller longer.
One of the reasons we love overnight oats is because they are so convenient as a grab and go breakfast. Whip up a batch the night before right into your Kilo collapsible shaker bottle, grab it from the fridge on your way out the door, and enjoy it on your commute or once you get into the office. Once you are done, collapse it down and throw it in your bag or purse. With our stink-free silicone shaker cup (stink free? that's right! check out our blog post on the benefits of silicone here), you won’t be worried about opening the lid and cleaning it out when you’re ready for your afternoon protein shake!
Looking to try overnight oats for the first time? We personally love Oats Overnight. They also offer a variety pack so that you can try a range of fruity or dessert flavors. We hope you enjoy!
